NY-CSEF encourages high school students and young explorers to apply to the fair and journal.
Science and Medical Research
NY-CSEF seeks to innovative scholarly manuscripts or posters on science(Biology, Chemistry, Physic, other relevant subjects) and medical research.
We also accept environmental and energy research papers and posters.
Students must be in 9th to 12th grade or college students and be currently enrolled in a public school, a private school, or homeschooled.
Math and Engineering
In this category, student projects need to apply mathematical or computational science knowledge.
In addition, topics relevant to engineering such as mechanical, chemical, electrical engineering or material science would be suitable.
Students must be in 9th to 12th grade and be currently enrolled in math or computer-related courses in school.
Humanities and Social Studies
A paper that emphasizes any area of the humanities, social studies, philosophy, business, or economy can be submitted.
Social science phenomenon as a major cause or effect would be accepted as well.
Additionally, NY-CSEF welcomes feature articles that contribute to broadly defined improvement of general intellectual knowledge or empirical studies of abstract theories.
NY-CSEF Student Journal
For the Student Journal(not the project competition), NY-CSEF accepts applications on a rolling basis but all final papers and supporting documentation must be submitted by the due date.
If your submission is accepted, your paper will be published online in an average of two months of receipt of the final accepted version.

Internship Eligibility
Students must attend school in the US or overseas in order to apply to the 2021 virtual internship.
Students must be in the 9th to 12th grade or in college.
Please include your background or research experiences in the application.
The internship can be in a creative industry that relates to your program of study and professional goals.
Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.

NY-CSEF is concerned with the health and well-being of its attendees and staff. *Virtual PPC and RPC are OPEN(In-person PPC is canceled).
Submission for the NY-CSEF Competition 2024 is open until June 12, 2024. To check the schedule, please go to the menu Fair Schedule(view details).
All the project materials will need to be uploaded to a website where the judges will be able to access and review remotely. Submission of a research paper for the NY-CSEF student journal is open year-round.
